Vehicles in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Officers stated they were contacted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were notified late on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then located numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials say initial examinations suggest the substance was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.

A senior official stated the vandalism made him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
